On June 2 Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant was visited by the members of the Ukrainian-wide Club of Automotive Journalists - a public organization called to popularize car market in Ukraine and native car industry. Mass-media tour arranged by «UkrAVTO» Corporation gathered representatives of the Ukrainian TV & radio companies, leading specialized editions and news agencies for their fruitful communication. Meeting was attended by the Vice-President of «Ukravtoprom» Association Efim Khazan, Vice-President of «UkrAVTO» Corporation Oleg Papashev, Chairman of the Board of CJSC «ZAZ» Mykola Yevdokymenko.  

One of the most important and discussable matter was the matter of prolongation of 13 % increase to import duty after September 6, 2009, for additional half a year. Car-makers consider that the Government and Supreme Rada took right decision on introduction of import duty increase. Those actions allowed maintaining production and supported native manufacturer. Initiative on prolongation of 13% increase is also supported by numerous suppliers of components, which representatives have also talked to journalists, - as direct interrelation between production output of automotive industry and loading of its companies is obvious.

Prior to getting firsthand answers to the most topical and vital for the public questions journalists-participants of the mass-media tour were invited to a tour over the main production shops. Representatives of mass-media got a chance to see results of fundamental modernization of the press shop: die cushion drawing press made by «Fagor» company, coiled steel blanking line and new tandem line made by «AIDA» company have been commissioned, which fact allowed to increase parts production capacity and to enlarge product range of the shop. Modernization performed on paint line conveyers, during which nine new modern robots were installed, as well as new equipment installed in the welding shop for Lanos Т-150, added journalists' impressions about ZAZ as up-to-date production site of European level.

    CJSC «ZAZ» is included into «UkrAVTO» Group and is the sole enterprise in Ukraine having full-scale cycle of passenger cars production, including stamping, welding, painting, body trim and car assembly. New modern high-technology production, meeting requirements of international standards, has been created and is constantly improved at the plant. Up to the date CJSC «ZAZ» has facilities for full-scale production of 165 thsd. cars a year.

     High level of engineering support of CJSC «ZAZ» production became a basis for CJSC «ZAZ» fruitful cooperation with such leaders of global car industry as Adam Opel, Daimler AG, GM DAT, ВАЗ, ТАТА, Сhery, КІА. Production process complies with requirements of International Standard ISO 9001:2000 and requirements shown by CJSC «ZAZ» partners; it is aimed mainly at the customers of С class cars (the mostly fast-growing market segment).

   CJSC «ZAZ» priorities include constant intention to improve own products, activities on introduction of new ideas and widening of car models range. For the past 10 years CJSC "ZAZ" expenses for investment program implementation exceeded 2,4 bln. UAH.

Contribution to Zaporizhia region development: According to the results of activity in 2008 CJSC «ZAZ» sales made up approximately 20% of the total sale volumes of industrial companies in Zaporizhia region. Total sales in the region - 64,2 bln. UAH, including CJSC «ZAZ»   - 12,7 bln. UAH.

Total salaries paid in the region - 5 477,9  mln. UAH, including CJSC «ZAZ»  - 471,1 mln. UAH. In 2008 CJSC «ZAZ» remitted 2,9 bln. UAH as taxes to the budgets of different levels. For comparison: Total budget fund of Zaporizhia region made up 2,5 bln. UAH. in 2008.
