Prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko visited Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant
Government leaded by Mrs. Tymoshenko intends to support manufacturers of national vehicles and to amend credit policy
Prime minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko made several statements as to the strategy of the Ukrainian automobile industry development. In particular, Mrs. Tymoshenko informed that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will insist on renewal of 13-percent increase to cars import duty. Mrs. Tymoshenko reminded that the Cabinet of Ministers had submitted to the Parliament the draft law on renewal of 13-percent increase to the import duty in order to support domestic car-makers. Prime minister noted that the import duty for imported cars should be comparable to the duty applied in other countries, "in order not to open doors and, in fact, not to allow destroying our own automobile industry". Mrs. Tymoshenko also noted that as of today forming the proper consumer crediting is an extremely important matter: it will allow to sell cars manufactured by CJSC «ZAZ» in our own market.
Mrs. Tymoshenko stated that the Government had developed the scheme, under which Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant would manufacturer 100 thousand cars for disabled persons. Prime minister reminded that in 2009 the Government prepared the contracts, which would ensure providing disabled persons with cars. Mrs. Tymoshenko stated that the Government plans to solve the matter related to cars for disabled persons during one year; to achieve this long-term credit facilities (with the term up to 20 years) will be attracted against State guarantee.
